Still a day behind, but I'm blogging about my time here, so hush yourself. No complaints (:
Today was my very first day of work, I obviously very nervous and didn't know what would happen. I had a lot in my mind between having a hotel to stay at, to the mandatory drug test, to how I am going to eat all week. Here's a run-down of what I went through.
This first day is all about orientation. You're taking tests, getting drug tested and filling out numerous amounts of paper work, boring right? Trust me, I know; I almost fell asleep.. Twice!
I was honestly most worried about the drug test, lately I've done a few things I'm not proud of but I also won't mention. Needless to say, I was scared I would fails we were running late that morning so if course I used the bathroom at the hotel thinking I would have time to build back up, that wasn't the case. I had to pee in a cup pretty much as soon as I got there. I couldn't go really, but I tried my hardest. The test came up positive for multiple things so they sent for further testing... I WAS DYING FROM ANTICIPATION! Come to find out, that was because there wasn't enough urine in the cup. Long story short, I oerd in a cup TWICE in one day, and I did pass, so the job is mine!!
After that we continue to do out paper work and orientation. Normal things, all the information sheets; how you want to receive your money.. I had to get a Walmart money card to do direct deposit because I forgot to take a blank voided check, but that's okay. I don't care how it works, as long as IM the one receiving the money I worked for!
After the drug test debacle, everyone was issued their safety books, and badges. I feel so important knowing that's how I clock in and out everyday. It has a picture of me in it and it's just exciting to me, I'm not sure why. The first day at work went fairly well, and I'm pleased with myself. Once I got back to the hotel, things changed a little. I had time to sit down and start thinking. Of course, the first thing on my mind is home. I miss everyone there so much, and I hope it gets easier being away, even if it's just a little bit. I can't wait to come home to my friends and family. <3
I had planned to post a picture of my badge, but I deleted it, sorry guys!
ANYWAYS! Continue to read my blog everyday to see how things are going, and I hope you enjoy it. (:
